Precursor for obtaining in situ a biocide (chlorine dioxide), exclusively used for the potabilization and disinfection of water for human or animal consumption. Precursor included in art. 95 of the EU Regulation 528/2012 on biocides.
Aqueous solution of sodium chlorite NaCIO2 at 25%, precursor substance of a biocide (chlorine dioxide) that is obtained in situ by acidification with the ACTIVATOR HCL 4%. The set consists of two containers, one of Sodium Chlorite (25%) and one HCl Activator (4%).
A drop of Activator HCl is used for each drop of Sodium Chlorite (1:1). Dosage 2 drops of sodium chlorite and 2 drops of activator for each liter of water to be treated, in a dry container (non-metallic) regardless of the number of activated drops. Wait about 45 seconds until a golden amber colour is obtained.
The mixture must then be diluted in water. Add water (>150 ml) to stabilise the activated solution as soon as possible.
The intense yellow colour indicates the degree of saturation of the CIO2 gas which evaporates over time. This yellowish solution must be diluted in the water to be treated as soon as possible in order to ensure maximum efficiency and allow it to act for at least 30 minutes. Do not drink the treated water until the active chlorine level drops below 1.5 ppm.
If when measuring the level of chlorine, it is unnoticeable, repeat the operation until the level of active chlorine in the water is between 0.5-1.5 ppm. The quantity of product to be dosed and the time of exposure will always depend on the quality of the water to be treated. Use with caution, always read the labels and information about the product. Store in a cool, dry place in an upright position. Do not expose to sunlight to avoid degradation. It is not necessary to keep the containers in the refrigerator at reasonable temperatures when the ambient temperature is below 22-24º C.
Package contains x30 140 ml Sodium Chlorite + 4% HCL Activator 25%
Concentrated Dissolution Very high quality and purity.
Sodium chlorite should never be used alone. It should always be activated with a safe acid such as 4% HCL. Mixing equal parts sodium chlorite with an acid generates the disinfectant biocidal substance Chlorine dioxide. 140 ml pack of opaque HDPE, to preserve all its quality and optimal conservation.
It is very important to bear in mind that exposing the content to ultraviolet light deteriorates the product.
Use biocides in a safe way. Always read the label and biocide information before using it
